Key features

Every stage of CSP operations on one platform

From onboarding to renewal, every change stays in sync with Partner Center.

  1. Step 01 · When a new customer signs

Onboard the customer in one pass

Create tenants in Partner Center in bulk, or link existing ones with MCA attestation completed before the agreement is created. Link several tenants to a C3 customer in one action and onboard existing subscriptions, expired ones included.

  2. Step 02 · When an order or change comes in

Catch a bad order before Microsoft does

Add-ons are checked against their base product and upgrades against eligibility before Microsoft sees them. Orders above your own seat or transaction limits wait for approval before reaching Partner Center.

  3. Step 03 · When the month closes

Close the month in a fixed sequence

Invoices are generated by product category. Annual-term subscriptions can be billed upfront while Azure usage stays on the monthly run. The reconciliation report then checks every line against Partner Center, leaving out inactive and transferred Azure subscriptions.

  4. Step 04 · When billing has to reach finance

Post billing where finance already works

Push billing data to ConnectWise Manage or Datto Autotask, which raise the invoices, and post invoices to Dynamics 365 Business Central, Xero or QuickBooks. Connectivity checks send an alert when a connection fails, before month-end depends on it.

  5. Step 05 · Before renewals and access expire

Plan renewals and admin access ahead of the date

Schedule quantity, term, billing frequency and SKU changes ahead of each renewal. At expiration, each subscription can auto-renew, move to Extended Service Terms or cancel. GDAP relationships are tracked as active, expiring or expired, with notifications before they lapse.

What CSP partners ask about running Microsoft CSP operations on one platform.

CSP Control Center cloud linking Azure, Power BI, Copilot and Microsoft 365 to a billing dashboard with usage KPIs and a subscription table, feeding charts, an itemised invoice and a completed sync
What does Microsoft CSP operations cover?

Microsoft CSP operations is the recurring work of running a Cloud Solution Provider business: onboarding customer tenants, processing orders and seat changes in Partner Center, invoicing customers, reconciling against Microsoft's invoice, posting to PSA and accounting systems, and managing renewals and compliance requirements such as GDAP and MCA attestation.

We are moving from indirect reseller to Direct Bill. What changes operationally?

As a Direct Bill partner you receive Microsoft's invoice yourself, so you take on customer invoicing, reconciliation, collections and Partner Center operations that your distributor handled before. Microsoft sets eligibility requirements for Direct Bill, so check the current Partner Center criteria first. C3 then gives you the billing, reconciliation and renewal workflows the Direct Bill model needs.

Does C3 work for both Direct Bill partners and indirect resellers?

Yes. Direct Bill partners use C3 as their own billing and operations platform. Indirect resellers usually access C3 through their distributor, and distributors (indirect providers) use it to run billing and provisioning across their reseller network.

How does C3 keep up when Microsoft changes CSP rules?

Microsoft program changes ship as C3 releases. Recent examples include the MCA attestation flow (January 2026) and Extended Service Terms support (February and April 2026), following earlier GDAP, NCE and Partner of Record releases.

What does a CSP month-end close involve?

A CSP month-end close turns the month's Partner Center activity into invoices finance can trust. It has five parts: sync billing data, generate customer invoices, reconcile each line against Microsoft's invoice, resolve the differences, then post to the PSA or accounting system. In C3 these run in the same order every month, and the reconciliation report leaves out inactive and transferred Azure subscriptions.

How long does the monthly CSP invoicing run take?

It depends on how many customers you bill and how complex your pricing is. As published examples, Neway Technologies cut its monthly invoicing run from two to three days to four hours after moving to C3, and RealPage now spends 25% less time on customer billing.

Can C3 reduce the team needed to run CSP operations?

Results depend on your starting point. As one published example, 848 Group reduced the people on CSP operations from five to two after moving to C3.
